Become a Dairy Ambassador

The Dairy Ambassador program is a county and state program designed to further youth and community dairy education. Each year, select high school students from around the state represent their local county, attending farm field days, doing classroom eduction, and offering information at the county fair about dairy products and dairy farming. Two state-level ambassadors are chosen from qualified applicants each January. State Ambassadors receive a monetary scholarship and represent Dairy Farmers throughout the year at community events, school assemblies, the annual convention and more. State ambassador applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently represent the dairy industry as a spokesperson OR have demonstrated past success as a spokesperson
  • Have flexibility in their work/school schedule to accommodate short-notice interview requests
  • Possess strong communication skills and ability to translate complex ideas into messages for consumers
  • Have a solid knowledge of dairy/nutrition and current issues related to dairy
  • Be able to conduct interviews on a broad range of dairy topics
  • Project a positive and professional image and attitude
  • Must be single with no children between the ages of 17 - 25
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher

Hadly Bingham & Lacey Papageorge

Hadly Bingham (left) is from Heber City, UT. She is currently a scholarship student at Southern Utah University where she is majoring in Elementary education. Hadly served as a Wasatch County dairy ambassador, has been active in Future Farmers of America (FFA), was a cheerleader during high school, and she works currently as a tumbling instructor. Lacey Papageorge (right) is a 4th generation dairy farmer in Farr West, Utah. She currently attends Utah State University and is studying animal dairy and veterinary science with a minor in agricultural business. Lacey served as a Weber County dairy ambassador and has been very active in 4H and FFA. She has shown dairy cattle for many years, been an active contributor to "The Cow Locale Blog," and she is currently working at Gossner Foods in Logan, UT. 

We are thrilled to have these two very talented young women represent the Utah dairy industry and we are looking forward to working with our ambassadors throughout 2013.
