Dairy Council - Fuel Up to Play 60

FUEL UP to PLAY 60 is a fun, school-based program that empowers youth to make healthy choices and create a healthy school environment filled with nutrient-rich foods and at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity. The program was founded by the National Dairy Council© (NDC) and the National Football League (NFL) and is based on a mutual commitment to the health of the next generation. This program is unique in that it is completely customizable to each school and can work in conjunction with existing school-based programs to help schools achieve state & national standards.

As of September 2011, Utah teachers can now earn PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CREDIT for implementing Fuel Up to Play 60. The Dairy Council of UT/NV has worked closely with the Utah State Office of Education to increase teacher and student knowledge of healthy lifestyles through the creation of this Professional Development Course. Interested teachers will earn state licensure points while increasing their understanding of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and activating students. Participants can choose between 4 levels of involvement and receive up to 3 USOE credits. Course requirements must be completed by May 31, 2012 to receive credit. All coursework will be completed online through a webinar-based learning environment. (Please Note that at this time, credit is only being offered for Utah schools).

LEVEL 1: Orientation (2 Licensure points)
LEVEL 2: Kickoff Event & Team Building (1 USOE credit)
LEVEL 3: Survey the Field & 'Game Time' (1 USOE credit)
LEVEL 4: Light Up the Scoreboard (1 USOE credit)
