Packing a Sandwich-Free Lunch

Two weeks into the new school year and most moms are already struggling with an issue that
may leave them crying in the corner of the grocery store: what to pack for lunch. By keeping a
few things in mind and trying something new, moms may just find their own simple solutions to
the packing problem.

1. Get kids involved…let them choose at least one thing that will end up in a lunch sack.
2. Don't over-pack…a child's stomach is only about the size of his fist. By offering too many
choices moms can encourage kids to make unhealthy choices.
3. Think outside of the bag…take a unique approach to lunches and pack sandwich-free
    a. Bowl of cereal with milk
    b. Sliced apples and celery with almond honey butter
    c. Cheese cubes and soft pretzels on toothpicks
    d. Smoothie in a jar
